How Nokia’s UK arm is bucking the trend of falling sales

This positive news comes amidst Nokia’s global restructuring efforts, including plans to cut up to 14,000 jobs announced in October 2023. Despite these challenges, the telecoms technology giant based in Finland remains focused on cost-saving measures to enhance profitability. The company aims to achieve substantial savings of €800m to €1.2bn by 2026, amidst a decline in net sales from €11.01bn to €8.91bn for the first half of the current fiscal year.

Nokia UK’s board expressed confidence in meeting turnover expectations for 2023 and predicted future performance aligned with market conditions and the success of the company’s product and service offerings. While profit for the year is anticipated to be consistent with previous results, the directors emphasized the continued profitability of all operations in the foreseeable future.

Moreover, Nokia saw an increase in its UK workforce, with the average number of employees rising from 891 to 940 during the year. This growth reflects the company’s commitment to its UK operations and its ongoing efforts to drive success in the region.
